Straight answers

We reviewed our own system for the ways it could be gamed or misunderstood. Here's every concern we found, and exactly how Pixlo handles it.

Questions from café owners and players alike. If yours isn't here, reach our Grievance Officer on the Terms & Privacy page.

Points integrity Can someone farm free rewards by clearing cookies or using incognito?

No. First-visit onboarding requires a name and email, and the email is verified by a one-time code before any points can be earned. Your points live under your verified email, not your browser - so clearing storage, switching to incognito, or moving to a new phone all reunite you with the same balance instead of minting a fresh one. Playing before verifying is allowed for fun, but no points accrue until you verify.

Fair to businesses If I earn points at one café, can I spend them at a different, unrelated café?

No. Your identity is global across Pixlo, but your points are a separate wallet for each business. Points earned at Café A can only be redeemed at Café A (and its own other outlets). No business ever pays for engagement it didn't get. This is enforced on our servers and covered by an automated test.

Anti-cheat Can players cheat the games to inflate their score?

Scores are validated and capped on our servers, never trusted from the device. Every game has a maximum plausible score for its length; anything above it is rejected. Reward codes are single-use, enforced at the database level - a screenshotted code fails the second time it's scanned.

Privacy Who can see my data? Where is it stored?

A business only ever sees the activity of guests at its own locations - never your activity at a different, unrelated business. Pixlo runs on established infrastructure providers (Render, Vercel, Neon, Upstash) with encrypted connections throughout; verification emails are sent via Brevo. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Points expiry Do my points last forever?

Points expire after 90 days of inactivity at a given business, to keep the program sustainable. We warn you well before - if you come back after a long gap and play, we let you know your points were about to expire rather than quietly zeroing them. Any activity resets the clock.

Staff safeguards Could café staff quietly rack up points or rewards for themselves?

A business account email cannot also be used as a points-earning guest - the two are mutually exclusive. And every reward redemption records which staff member verified it, giving owners a clear audit trail in their dashboard.

Sustainable rewards How does a café avoid giving away more than it can afford?

Owners set a daily ₹ reward budget per location. As the day's spend climbs, costlier rewards drop out of the pool automatically; once the budget is reached, only point-only rewards remain until it resets at midnight (local time). Premium rewards also carry a per-guest cooldown so they can't be claimed back-to-back.

No gambling Does Pixlo have spin-wheels, lucky draws, or jackpots?

No. Every reward on Pixlo is earned by skill-based play and an explicit points cost - there is no randomised payout. We deliberately avoid chance-based mechanics, which can fall under gambling/sweepstakes rules, unless and until they've had proper legal review for a specific region.

Your rights Can I have my data deleted?

Yes. Contact our Grievance Officer (listed on the Terms & Privacy page) and we'll anonymize your identifying information - your name and email - while keeping only anonymized aggregate records needed for analytics integrity and fraud prevention.

Honest answer Is Pixlo suitable for children?

Pixlo is intended for players aged 18 and over, and it's deployed in public cafés without a hard age gate. We're treating age-appropriate safeguards as an open question under review with legal counsel rather than claiming it's fully resolved - we'd rather be upfront about that.

Still have a question?

Ask us directly - we'd rather answer it than have you guess.
